Who are we?
The STEMpower team is composed of three partners; ProEduca, CESUR and EIA.
ProEduca
ProEduca z.s. is a Czech private association of professional teachers specialising in innovation in education and providing supporting services (mainly training for education staff and youth) to schools and educational non-profits. ProEduca has worked in more than 25 different projects aimed at the improvement of educational systems during the last 13 years. These projects were/are aimed at development and dissemination of innovative teaching approaches, curricula modification and development of new training programs for specific target groups (young people, teachers, senior learners, unemployed people, VET trainers, employers). The main topics ProEduca has tackled during the past few years relate to: digitalisation of education delivery; ICT training development for all education levels; professional development of teachers and trainers; design of training activities and training materials for teachers; training and education of the EU society, entrepreneurs and teachers.
CESUR
As a Spain-based vocational education provider, CESUR (Centro Superior de Formación Europa Sur) has a vast amount of experience when it comes to STEM fields. Examples of the disciplines that CESUR has to offer include network information systems, distance networks, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, 3D game development and interactive environments, structuring and installing aeronautical systems and maintenance of electronic and avionic systems of aircraft, to name just a few. Additionally, as a vocational centre, CESUR must keep up to date with job market trends in order to make their courses as relevant as possible. As a result, the organisation has a deep insight into the necessary skills and best practices required for certain professions. This knowledge can then be harnessed during key stages of the projects in order to provide the most comprehensive and useful results possible for the target group of the project, young students aged 11-14 years old.
EIA
EIA-Atlântica (Ensino e Investigação e Administração) is is a private university school integrated into the Portuguese Higher Education System, with the designation of University Institute. Founded in 1996 as a public interest institution, EIA’s focus is on the creation, transmission and diffusion of knowledge, sciences and technology through the provision of studies, teaching, research and experimental development in the areas of Business Sciences, Health, Information Technology and Engineering. EIA-Atlântica aims to position itself clearly in the European context, both at the level of quality training and research as well as through proposals and the participation on innovative projects in different areas adapting to the technological and social changes that occur in Europe. The main areas of research for EIA include the following: Computer science (AI and machine learning; data science; business intelligence; natural language processing), Engineering (materials engineering; energy; aeronautical engineering).
