Associate Professor at Atlântica, Instituto Universitário, since 2001, she teaches Physiology and is a member of management bodies. She has a PhD (1999) and a degree (1993) from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, where she remains a researcher.

Married with 3 children, her interests include reading, travelling, walking in nature, doing puzzles and sewing.
